(2) F.E. Brandis, Sons & Co., Brooklyn, New York, boxed transit, serial number 2206, dark metal U-frame uprights, two bubble levels, silvered dial around the outside of circular platform, mounted on four adjustable feet in a wood case. (3) Buff & Buff Mfg Co., Boston, surveyor's transit, 12 inch telescope on black U-frame uprights, bubble level below the scope, silvered scale around perimeter of circular platform engraved with the maker's name, bubble levels, mounted on four adjustable feet. (4) David White Co., Milwaukee, WI, instrument stand, black crinkle finish with upper leveling platform, micrometer adjustments, mounted on three adjustable feet.
CONDITION:
(1) The instrument has no telescope. Wood case is worn and leather strap is gone. (2) The transit telescope is missing. The wood case is worn and leather strap is gone. (3) Black finish on telescope is scratch in many places. No case or tripod. (4) Incompete, but well made. Electrical wires have deteriorated. Some loss of black crinkle finish. Dimensions are for the Brandis case.
